Dengue fever, a virus transmitted by mosquitos, is responsible for the deaths of nearly 25,000 people worldwide, each year. Researchers from Johns Hopkins University have published their work on how mosquitos can be genetically engineered to resist DENV.
Researchers have cooled an object to a temperature lower than thought possible, less than one-fifth of one quantum, which is below the so-called "quantum limit." The technique they used could eventually allow us to build better quantum computers, which are currently limited by distortion created by high temperatures.
