This Battery Turns Carbon Dioxide Into Energy

Penn State University scientists have discovered a way to build a flow battery that converts carbon dioxide into usable energy. While this technology might not be commercially available for a long time, it could eventually help to drastically decrease carbon emissions as we move away from fossil fuels.

A New Vision-Restoring Brain Implant Could Give Sight to the Blind

Researchers will use a new type of brain implant to stimulate the visual cortex in monkeys, essentially recreating the activity usually triggered by neuron signals from the eyes. Instead of using electrodes to induce electrical activity within the brain, this new type of brain implant uses magnetic fields, thus avoided degradation problems due to scar tissue.
